Thousands of North Korean soldiers can turn the tide of war

Michel Duclos, former ambassador and special advisor to the Institut Montaigne, was invited by LCI, the French news channel, to analyze the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

For Michel Duclos, we need to learn from this conflict and prepare for it to last:

“I believe that the Russians will adapt because one of the lessons of this crisis, which can really be studied in the staffs, is that the Russians set out with misconceptions, inappropriate means, unsuitable strategies, but they have never stopped learning from their weaknesses and correcting them.”

Regarding the reaction to strikes on Russian territory with US long-range weapons, Michel Duclos believes:

“They may not react immediately, but they will find parries. They'll be able to adapt there too. What worries me a little is not nuclear weapons, for example. What's more worrying is the fact that we're not really reacting to North Korean troop movements. Because if we let this go through, anything is possible and they'll feel entitled to have 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 more North Korean soldiers. And then it will make a real difference.”
