"They're helping Putin continue his aggression"
Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, believes that China's talk of peace in Ukraine "doesn't hold water".
This is what he said last Friday during a press conference after his meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi. Antony Blinken notably mentioned Washington's concerns about Beijing's "technical" support towards Moscow. According to him, around 70% of the machine tools and 90% of the microelectronic components imported by Russia come from China and Hong Kong, reports French media Midi Libre. The head of diplomacy goes on to say that China is helping Moscow produce its war material (rockets, missiles, armoured vehicles and munitions).
"So, when Beijing says it wants peace and an end to the conflict while allowing its companies to make decisions that help (Russian President Vladimir) Putin continue his aggression, that doesn't hold water," Antony Blinken stressed.
And while China and Brazil, in their plan to end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, are planning an international peace conference, the Ukrainian president refuses this initiative, specifying that it was a question of giving Putin the space and time necessary to continue his war.
