Russia and North Korea deal huge blow to Ukraine
Russian and North Korean troops have made significant gains in the western part of the Kursk region.
A section of the Russian territory, which was overrun by thousands of Ukrainian troops last summer, has been recaptured by Vladimir Putin's forces, while part of the North Korean contingent has been redeployed to the Belgorod region.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russian soldiers have advanced into areas previously controlled by Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region.
In recent weeks, the Kremlin had amassed tens of thousands of troops in the area, aiming to push back the Ukrainian offensive.
On Ukraine’s eastern front, Russian troops have made only slight advances, but this momentum appears to be fading as winter approaches.
