Putin unleashes most devastating attack on Ukraine
Russia has launched its largest drone offensive on Ukraine since the conflict began, deploying at least 188 drones that struck residential areas in Kyiv and caused power outages across the country.
Moscow continues to intensify its efforts on Ukraine’s eastern front while promising "retaliation" after Ukrainian forces once again used U.S.-made ATACMS missiles to target sites on Russian soil.
Ukraine managed to shoot down 76 drones between Monday evening and midday Tuesday, though local air defense systems are struggling to keep up with the relentless pace of Russian attacks.
"Unfortunately, there were hits to critical infrastructure facilities, and private and apartment buildings were damaged in several regions due to the massive drone attack," Ukraine air force said in a statement.
On Tuesday, Moscow confirmed that a British national had been arrested in the Kursk region. James Scott Rhys Anderson, 22, was detained and imprisoned for allegedly participating in combat operations in the Russian border region.
