Putin threatens West with ultimate weapon

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the Sarmat missiles, nicknamed "Satan II," to be made operational for potential deployment in Ukraine.

Colonel General Sergey Karakayev, commander of Russia's Strategic Missile Forces, stated that 88% of the missile systems in their arsenal consist of modern Russian equipment ready for deployment.

He said: "As of today, fifth-generation Yars and Avangard missile systems have been introduced in the Strategic Missile Forces. Work continues on placing the newest silo-based Sarmat missile system with a liquid-fueled super-heavy missile on combat duty," according to state media.

The Sarmat is an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of carrying up to 16 nuclear warheads with a range of 17,000 km, enabling it to strike any target on the planet.

Despite numerous setbacks during its development, including a prototype explosion during testing last September, Vladimir Putin now aims to leverage this weapon as a threat against the West.

This comes after the United States and the United Kingdom authorized Ukraine to use their missiles to strike targets on Russian soil.
