Putin's gift to North Korea
South Korea claims Moscow transferred anti-aircraft missiles to Pyongyang in exchange for North Korea sending troops to Russia.
South Korean national security adviser, Shin Won-sik, has claimed that North Korea received anti-aircraft missiles and other air defense systems from Russia in exchange for sending its troops to the Ukrainian front to support Moscow.
“We believe that Russia provided anti-aircraft equipment and missiles to strengthen Pyongyang's vulnerable air defenses,” Mr. Shin said in a radio interview with South Korean broadcaster SBS, when asked what Kim Jong-un's regime received in exchange for sending its troops to Russia's Kursk region.
