London directly involved in the war against Russia
According to some British media, Kiev has fired long-range Storm Shadow missiles towards Russia for the first time.
These are missiles supplied by the United Kingdom in support of the Ukrainian armed forces. Following this move, the Russian ambassador to London, Andrei Kelin, believes that London is “directly involved” in the conflict. "Absolutely, the UK is now directly involved in this war, because such a strike cannot take place without (the use of) NATO troops, British troops," Kelin said in an interview with Sky News.
According to the Russian ambassador, these weapons were only to be used "on Ukrainian soil"; the British government was therefore "deceived".
At this stage, no reaction has been heard from Prime Minister, Keir Starmer. According to France info, a spokesperson nevertheless stated, very briefly, that the British government will not be discouraged or distracted by comments from Vladimir Putin or the Russian ambassador.
