Kim Jong Un: the nuclear threat he didn’t see coming
Kim Jong-un was caught off guard. South Korea showcased its military strength on Tuesday during a parade that displayed an impressive arsenal to the world.
At the annual celebration of South Korea’s armed forces, the country seized the opportunity to send a clear message to its northern neighbour: if North Korea resorts to nuclear weapons, it risks being wiped out by South Korea’s overwhelming firepower.
During the parade, South Korea unveiled its Hyunmoo-5 ballistic missile, capable of destroying underground bunkers.
The South Korean military explained that this new, highly precise and powerful missile can strike any target on the Korean peninsula.
In his speech at the event, President Yoon Suk Yeol, whose country is militarily associated with the United States, said that South Korea would respond with maximum force in the event of a nuclear attack from North Korea.
"That day will mark the end of the North Korean regime," he said
