Huge blow for Ukraine, another ennemi joins the war
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine is now battling two nations, as several thousand North Korean soldiers prepare to join the battlefield alongside Russian forces.
A high-ranking source within the Ukrainian military told Politico that Vladimir Putin has recruited numerous soldiers from North Korea with plans to send them to Ukraine, where the conflict has now been raging for over two years.
“They are called the Buryat Battalion ... there are some 3,000 North Koreans there,” the source told the American media outlet.
Following this revelation, the Ukrainian leader now believes his country is fighting against two enemies simultaneously.
“The coalition of criminals together with Putin currently includes North Korea — the Kim family, which enslaves more than 20 million of the Korean people. Our intelligence records not only the transfer of weapons from North Korea to Russia but also the transfer of people,” he said while addressing the parliament.
“These are workers for Russian factories — instead of Russians killed in the war. And personnel for the Russian army. This is the participation of the second state in the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia,” he added.
A Western source told the Kyiv Independent that North Korea has sent 10,000 troops to assist Russia.
