Huge blow for Putin as Ukraine wipes out strategic oil depot
Late last week, the Ukrainian military announced it had successfully struck a fuel depot in Russia’s Rostov region.
In a statement on Telegram, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Friday that the facility was hit, causing a fire to break out.
The region’s governor, Yury Slyusar, confirmed the attack, attributing it to a drone strike targeting the industrial site.
This follows a series of strikes by the Ukrainian military the previous week, including an attack on an ammunition depot and a refinery. The targeted Atlas fuel depot is known to supply gasoline to the Russian army during military exercises.
In addition, a Russian radar station in Crimea was destroyed in a covert operation conducted by Ukraine’s secret service. Ukrainian intelligence confirmed the success of the mission but withheld further details.
