Belgian journalists seriously injured in Lebanon
A Belgian war journalist and his cameraman were seriously injured in Lebanon during the night from Wednesday to Thursday.
Robin Ramaekers (49), a war journalist for VTM Nieuws, and his cameraman Stijn De Smet (37) were attacked on Wednesday night as they were reporting on an attack in Beirut. The cameraman was shot in the leg and Ramaekers sustained fractures in his face. Both were cared for in a hospital but were taken to safety in the meantime.
The journalists wanted to use a fixer to shoot a report on the Israeli army's attack on a Hezbollah aid workers' outpost in central Beirut that left six dead.
