Will President Trump throw Prince Harry out?
Some of Trump's supporters believe that Britain's Prince Harry received preferential treatment when he moved to the US and was protected by the Biden administration for years. Consequently, a right-wing think tank is pushing for the release of the confidential immigration file of Britain's Prince Harry (40) as soon as Donald Trump is sworn in again as president of the United States.
Years of conflict is brought to a head
Harry and Meghan and Donald Trump have been at odds for some time. During the 2016 presidential election, Trump called Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, “nasty” after she called him “tearful” and “misogynistic.” As recently as February of this year, Trump said he would no longer protect Harry because he believes the prince “betrayed” his grandmother, the former Queen Elizabeth. “That's inexcusable. He would be on his own if it were up to me,” Trump said. And so that now seems to be actually happening.
But what does that mean for Prince Harry?
Britain's Prince Harry moved to California several years ago with his wife Meghan Markle. However, according to the right-wing think tank The Heritage Foundation's Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom, that didn't quite happen in a fair way. And so they are threatening to have Harry's immigration records made public.
Drug use thorn in his side
Indeed, Prince Harry had admitted in his memoirs that he sometimes uses drugs recreationally. And precisely for this reason, the U.S. authorities should have rejected his visa application, the think tank echoes. They therefore believe that the British prince received preferential treatment from the Biden administration.
“There are several things that could happen, but it would be in the interest of the American people if the Trump administration releases Prince Harry's records for public scrutiny and Harry is held accountable,” Nile Gardiner, president of the think tank told Daily Mail.
