Putin wants to be immortal: team of scientists work around the clock
Russian President Vladimir Putin is fascinated with combating aging and “eternal life".
Russian scientists have now launched efforts to find new ways to combat aging. Indeed, together with his assistant Mikhail Kovalchuk, the Kremlin boss dreams of eternal life, as reported by The Times and several independent Russian media outlets.
Earlier this year, Putin announced a national project to “ensure public health.” The Russian deputy prime minister announced the New Health Preservation Technologies initiative a few months later, confirming the Russian government's intentions: to combat aging. The Russian government's prediction is that some 175,000 premature deaths in Russia could be avoided by 2030.
Russian research institutes have been given the clear mandate to step up efforts to combat cellular aging and osteoporosis, cognitive and sensory disorders, and to strengthen immune systems. 3D printing of organs - to replace failing ones - and tissue is also part of the mission.
