Orban wants to help asylum seekers move to Brussels
Migrants granted asylum in Hungary who want to come to Brussels will be helped by Hungarian authorities. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said so at a press conference Tuesday at the European Parliament.
Undocumented migrants, as state secretary Bence Rétvàri previously threatened, will not be sent to the Belgian capital by bus. But Hungary thus wants to help migrants who are granted asylum in Hungary and want to move to Brussels. “This will happen,” Orban replied to a question about the threat made earlier by the Hungarian secretary of state. In reality, however, it appears that these will no longer be people without residence papers. “Of course we will respect European rules and regulations, but if someone who is granted asylum in Hungary wants to come to Brussels, we will help that person,” Orban nuanced the whole matter.
