He lurked around for 12 hours without being noticed
The man suspected of trying to assassinate former president and Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, had been lurking around the area with a rifle, undetected for nearly 12 hours.
The indictment says the man had been lurking near the golf course since 1:59am. local time (0559 GMT).
The defendant, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, made his initial appearance in federal court in West Palm Beach in handcuffs and wearing a prison uniform for just 10 minutes.
According to CNN, Routh was charged on Monday with two federal firearms charges: possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm with an "obliterated" serial number.
