Star of Lord of The Rings and Titanic dies at age 79
English actor Bernard Hill died on Sunday morning at the age of 79.
A successful actor, he created a furore with his roles as Théoden, King of Rohan, in the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings, Captain Edward Smith in Titanic, and Luther Plunkitt, the warden of San Quentin prison, in the Clint Eastwood film True Crime.
The Manchester-born top actor was scheduled to attend Comic Con Liverpool on Saturday, but he had to cancel at the last minute. When news of his death broke, other Lord of The Rings cast members held a gripping tribute at the Comic Con festival on Sunday.
