Rod Stewart, the living legend, treats himself to one last tour

Born in London in January 1945, Rod Stewart is undeniably one of the last living legends of British rock. Just a few months shy of his 80th birthday, he is setting off on one last world tour, soberly entitled ‘One Last Time’.

More accustomed to treading the plush stage of Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas (he has played there over 200 times!) than European stages, he returns to continental Europe for the first time in five years, and sometimes much more, as is the case in Belgium.

Since his first notable musical experiences, with the Jeff Beck Group (1967) and then with the Faces (1969 and the unforgettable ‘Stay With Me’), Rod Stewart has gradually made a name for himself under his own name, with a solo career that is versatile to say the least, riding the fashions of the moment.

He has even managed the feat of having his songs top the dance charts (‘Da Ya Think I'm Sexy’ on the album ‘Blondes Have More Fun’ in 1978 and ‘Baby Jane’ in 2003). But he is best known for his ballads, some stripped down like ‘Maggie May’ (1971), others made to be sung along to by crowds (‘Sailing’ in 1975).
