Popular radio host discovers he has cancer thanks to his listeners

Popular presenter on the British channel Heart Radio, Jamie Theakston, is very grateful to his listeners because thanks to their attention and help he discovered that he has laryngeal cancer.

His fans told him that his voice had changed, that there was something wrong with his voice. He then decided to go to the doctor, and that turned out to be a very good idea.

“Hi everyone, as you know, I recently had an operation to remove a defect in my vocal cords. The biopsy identified it as stage 1 laryngeal cancer. So I have cancer, but the cancer doesn’t have me!”, he said.

The prognosis is very positive, and he hopes to be back on the radio in October. “Until then, I have been told, I need to give my voice a rest.”

Jamie Theakston revealed fans had noticed a change in his voice earlier this month, and after getting it checked discovered he had stage one cancer.

Amanda Holden made the announcement on their Heart Radio show.
