She takes her top off; it's tradition
The new Mini is bound to have its convertible version. A pocket convertible that is still a fan of thermal power for now, despite a limited electric experience series combined with the previous generation.
It will make the new Mini Cabrio vroom vroom. First of all, it displays the stylistic codes and round LED headlights of the sedan, but without the triangular taillights. The cockpit takes up the stripped-down and refined decor of the new generation with the lever switch bar and the Mini Experience modes. On the other hand, no (yet?) electric motor. Indeed, the Mini Cabrio runs on gasoline. The Cooper C has 163 hp to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.2 s. The Cooper S develops 204 hp for a time of 0 to 100 in 6.9 s. A sportier JCW model is in the pipeline.
The canvas
The highlight of this small 3.88m car is of course its fabric hood. The kinematics are fully automatic. An operation that takes 18 seconds to go from fabric to sky and 15 seconds from clouds to canvas. This can even be done while driving. An air deflector located behind the driver and passenger seats reduces wind noise and turbulence when driving with the roof open. As for the trunk, it is rather tiny: 215 l with the canvas over your head and 160 l under the sun or stars. All this for a little over €30,000 or CHF30,000.
