Zelensky: “We are holding back 50,000 Russian troops in Kursk”
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky stated in his daily address to the nation that the Ukrainian offensive in Russia's Kursk region is currently holding back 50,000 Russian troops.
“Our men are holding back 50,000 troops of the occupying army. 50,000 troops that therefore cannot be used for other Russian offensives on our territory,” Zelenski stressed.
The Russians had a lot of troops transferred to the Kursk region since the surprise attack by Ukrainian forces in August. According to the Institute for the study of war, an American nonprofit organization, Russia had 11,000 troops in Kursk when Ukraine launched the surprise attack in August. And so that number has been ramped up substantially since then, also including North Koreans.
