"We will have to rethink our relations with Russia after the war in Ukraine"
French President Emmanuel Macron has said that relations with Russia should be reconsidered once the war in Ukraine is over.
Speaking at a peace rally in Paris organised by the Catholic Community of Sant'Egidio, Macron called for proposing a new form of peace and order in Europe. He stressed the need for a new organisation of Europe and a review of relations with Russia, The Kyiv Independent reported.
At the beginning of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Macron was still fiercely criticised when he warned not to humiliate Russia. Later, he took a tougher stance: France supplied Ukraine with long-range missiles and proposed a missile and bomb supply coalition.
Macron underlined the need for a fairer world order.
