Ukrainians in Europe voluntarily join Ukrainian army
Nearly 700 Ukrainian volunteers living in Europe have signed up to fight for the Ukrainian Legion. This concerns a new army formation that will be deployed on the front against Russia, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reports. These are Ukrainians who are of combat age, but for all kinds of reasons decided to flee their country and not join the army.
New recruitment strategy
Kiev announced in October that it would open recruitment offices outside Ukraine. The Ukrainians who registered at the recruitment office in the Polish city of Lublin, about 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, come from Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany and Ireland, among others. Their application will be examined and after medical tests they will be able to join the Ukrainian Legion, where they will receive military training.
After all, the Ukrainian army has already suffered major losses since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine almost three years ago, which means that every effort is being made to attract new recruits.
