Total outrage, Slovakia suggests missile strike on Brussels
Slovak Prime Minister, Robert Fico, has criticised calls by members of the European Parliament to allow Ukraine to strike Russian territory with long-range weapons.
He also suggested launching a missile strike on Brussels so that MEPs could "understand what this is really about".
"I regret that a perverse trend has emerged in Europe where, instead of stopping the sound of guns, we hear loud applause, enthusiastic cheers, and often important decisions that only encourage the continuation of the war," Fico said in a speech marking the 80th anniversary of the Carpathian-Dukla operation.
The comment, which suggested a symbolic missile strike on a Brussels monument, was interpreted by some as a provocation of EU decision-making on the war by a European prime minister seen as pro-Putin.
