State of emergency in Russian region due to explosions
Russian state news agency TASS reports that a state of emergency was declared in a district of the western Russian region of Bryansk following the detonation of explosive material.
Bryansk borders Belarus, Ukraine and the Kursk region, where Moscow has been fighting to oust Ukrainian forces since August.
Bryansk is a city and the administrative center of Bryansk Oblast, located on the Desna River, 379 kilometers southwest of Moscow. The city has about 379,152 inhabitants.
