Russians disguise themselves as Ukrainian soldiers: ‘New Russian war crime’
Consternation has arisen over the strategy of some Russian troops in Ukraine's north-eastern Kharkiv region.
The Ukrainian General Staff reports that some Russians ‘disguised as Ukrainian soldiers’ tried to break through the defensive lines in Kuyansk on Wednesday.
Some Russian soldiers reportedly wore uniforms that resembled those of the Ukrainian army. ‘This is how they violate the laws of war. This is a war crime,’ the General Staff condemned on Telegram. In fact, the Ukrainian army is said to have successfully repelled the attack. ‘We destroyed all Russian armoured vehicles and a significant part of their manpower,’ it echoes.
‘The Russian invaders launched an attack around 2.30pm to break through our defences in Kuyansk. Enemy assault groups attacked the positions of the Ukrainian defenders in four waves,’ the Ukrainian General Staff reported Wednesday on the messaging platform Telegram. ‘The enemy deployed a total of about 15 war vehicles, including tanks, armoured cars and a clearing vehicle.’
