Russian drone crashes in Latvia
A Russian drone reportedly entered Latvia on Saturday through the airspace of Belarus, then crashed in the Rezekne region, in eastern Latvia.
So announces Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics on X. Authorities announced that it was not an attack, but an accident. Whether there were deaths or injuries in the crash is unknown for now.
“The 'intruder' was noticed by the Latvian Armed Forces, which continued to monitor the flight until the aircraft crashed,” reads a statement on the Latvian government's website.
