Putin wants to expand Russian army yet again
Vladimir Putin wants to expand the Russian army by 180,000 soldiers, according to reports from The Associated Press news agency. In this way, the Russian army would consist of 1.5 million soldiers.
Putin already increased the number of men in the Russian army to 1.32 million soldiers last year. The decree for the new increase will come into force in December.
According to AP, the Kremlin wants to attract more volunteers to the army through higher wages and a signing bonus.
