Putin's nightmare: American weapons that can change everything
According to the U.S. Institute for the Study of War, Russian President Vladimir Putin is misjudging Ukraine's tactical capabilities.
According to a report by the U.S. Institute for the Study of War, "limited Russian offensives in the northern Kharkiv region indicate that Putin and military commanders believe the Russians are capable of advancing and entrenching in any part of the front. In doing so, they ignore the possibility of Ukrainian counterattacks or counteroffensives in the future."
Analysts believe Putin's confidence in the occupiers' ability to advance and entrench on any part of the front is based on the past few months in which the Russians have launched a progressive offensive in the Donbas.
However, according to experts at the Institute for the Study of War, this calculation "fundamentally misjudges the tactical capabilities of Ukrainian forces, which will be significantly strengthened with the start of deliveries of significant amounts of U.S. military aid."
The experts highlight that it is extremely important for Ukrainian forces to be able to carry out large-scale counter-offensives. These should lead to a change in the balance of forces at the front.
