"Putin's bluffing until he's not bluffing anymore"
US President Joe Biden is determined to use the rest of his term to strengthen Ukraine, but the authorization of long-range weapons is still pending.
The US and UK are procrastinating. The allies continue to hesitate to give Kiev the green light to strike Russian territory with long-range weapons.
For Jake Sullivan, White House adviser:
"The delays in US military aid are due to difficult logistics that need to be put in place and not due to a lack of political will. The United States fears Russian attacks on Ukrainian nuclear power plants and is looking to help Ukraine."
For his part, Putin continues to threaten NATO countries with retaliation, threats that for the moment appear to be Putin's bluff. But speaking anonymously, a senior member of the Biden administration said:
"Putin is bluffing until he's not bluffing anymore"
