Putin has found his master
Vladimir Putin’s army still controls nearly 20% of the territory in Ukraine, mainly in the East.
For peace agreements to emerge with Kiev, the Russian president says that it will necessarily be necessary to base them on “the realities” of the battlefield. “We are ready to consider any peace negotiations based on the realities on the ground. We're not ready to do anything else,” he said during the BRICS summit, which took place last week in Kazan.
At the same event, Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the UN, firmly warned Putin. It's necessary to achieve a “just peace,” stressing that “the Russian invasion of Ukraine was a violation of the UN Charter and international law.” Has the Kremlin leader met his match?
