"Putin Feels Threatened"
Over a year ago, Skibitsky, the deputy head of Ukrainian military intelligence, said, "Putin is our primary target; he knows, he feels that we are getting closer."
This statement is reinforced today by a security breach involving Putin and his bodyguards, who were geolocated via an app. According to Russian independent journalist Sergei Parkhomenko, Putin has been increasingly paranoid in recent months:
"Based on recent investigations by Russian journalists, he has stopped visiting his residences in the south. The grand palace in Gelendzhik and his famous residence in Sochi were once his favorites. He used to spend several months a year there, hosting all his guests. But he hasn’t visited in months. He hasn’t set foot in his favorite locations for quite some time."
"He’s afraid. His residence is not that far from Crimea, nor from the Kerch Bridge, which has been attacked multiple times. It’s no longer far from conflict zones near Krasnodar, which has been hit by Ukrainian missiles several times. All these residences have been abandoned by Putin and those close to him, out of fear that he might one day become the target of Ukrainian attacks."
