Putin always sees larger than life
Because the West is showing its teeth, Russia announces that it's increasing the size of its armed forces.
This is a response to “Western hostility,” reports Moscow. This increase was ordered by the Russian President on Monday. Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said: “This is due to the number of threats weighing on our country,” “an extremely hostile situation on our western borders and instability on our eastern borders.”
So on Monday, Vladimir Putin signed a decree to swell the ranks of the army, going from 1.32 million soldiers to 1.5 million. This decree will come into force in December.
