Putin threatens NATO with open wat
If Western nations give Ukraine the green light to use long-range weapons against Russia, NATO countries will be at war with Russia. This is the message that Putin sent in an interview.
"If this decision is taken, it means nothing less than the direct participation by NATO countries in the war in Ukraine. It changes the nature of the conflict and would mean that NATO countries — the United States, European countries — are at war with Russia," the president said in a comment to a Russian reporter.
The stern warning from the Russian president comes following discussions by NATO members. On Wednesday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken promised to "urgently" consider Ukraine's request. U.S. President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will also discuss Ukraine's military requirements on Friday.
