North Koreans heavily weaponized by Russia
Russia has deployed 7,000 North Korean soldiers in areas close to Ukraine. Ukrainian intelligence agencies have discovered what the “recruits” were armed with, according to intelligence sources at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
In the last week of October, Russia transferred more than 7,000 soldiers from the North Korean army to regions near Ukraine.
“Moscow armed the North Koreans with 60mm mortars, AK-12 assault rifles, RPK/PKM machine guns, sniper rifles and Phoenix antitank guided missiles, among other things,” intelligence officials revealed.
The North Korean soldiers, or “Special Buryats” as the Russians call them, also received night vision goggles, thermal cameras, collimators and binoculars.
“The North Korean troops were transported by at least 28 military transport planes of the Russian Air and Space Forces.”
Initially, reports mentioned more than 10,000 North Korean soldiers and three generals ready to join the fighting in the Kursk region as early as November.
