North Korea targets South Korean civilians
North Korea carried out several GPS jamming attacks targeting South Korean commercial ships and aircraft last week.
These allegations of attacks come shortly after Pyongyang conducted a ballistic missile test and provided recent military aid to Russia.
Last Friday, Seoul also conducted a ballistic missile test in response to the "provocations" from its hostile neighbor.
North Korea engaged in "GPS jamming provocations" in Haeju and Kaesong on Friday and Saturday, according to a statement from Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff on Saturday.
"We strongly urge North Korea to immediately cease its GPS provocations and warn that it will be held responsible for any subsequent issues arising from this," the military added in a statement.
Tensions between the two neighboring countries are at their highest in years, with Pyongyang recently taking symbolic action to cut off the last remaining routes connecting the two nations.
The North Korean regime also accused Seoul of sending drones over Pyongyang a few weeks ago.
While North Korea has already deployed thousands of soldiers alongside Russian forces, South Korea is considering providing military resources to support Ukraine.
