Moscow's dangerous connections worry the West

Iran sends two satellites to Russia to be launched into space.

Iran has sent two locally-made satellites to Russia to be launched into orbit by a Russian spacecraft, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards-linked Tasnim news agency reported late Saturday.

"Iranian satellites 'Kowsar' and 'Hodhod', manufactured by a private knowledge-based company, were sent to Russia on Friday to be launched into Earth's orbit," Tasnim said in its report.

"Kowsar" (named after Chapter 108 of the Quran) is a high-resolution imaging satellite that can be used in agriculture, natural resource management, environmental monitoring and disaster management.

As for "Hodhod", it's a small satellite capable of providing communication services in remote and inaccessible areas where access to terrestrial communication networks is limited.

Trade and technological relations between Russia and Iran show how close the two countries are becoming and constitute a common enemy for the United States.
