Kremlin keeps denying
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has reiterated that there has still been no contact between Vladimir Putin and newly elected US President Donald Trump or a representative of the new US administration since the US elections. So reports Russian state news agency TASS.
This contradicts earlier reports by The Washington Post. After all, that US newspaper wrote that Trump and Putin were on the phone last Thursday. In that first phone conversation since his re-election, Trump reportedly brought up the situation in Ukraine and warned his Russian counterpart not to escalate the war. But the Kremlin strongly denies that this actually happened and refers to it as ‘pure fiction’.
Trump and his new right-hand man Elon Musk did hold a joint telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. These two sides do agree on that.
