Kim Jong Un vows to win the ‘Holy War’

North Korea has confirmed that Kim Jong Un ordered thousands of soldiers to assist Vladimir Putin by reinforcing the Russian army in Ukraine.

North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui traveled to Moscow on Friday for discussions with her Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov. During her address, Choe stated that the North Korean leader directed his military to support Russia without hesitation in their "holy war" against Ukraine.

"From the very beginning of the special military operation, respected comrade Chairman of State Affairs Kim Jong Un gave the order that we, without looking over our shoulder at anyone, should invariably and powerfully support and provide assistance to the Russian army and the Russian people in their holy war," she said.

"We have no doubt that under the wise leadership of the respected President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Russian army and people will certainly achieve a great victory in their sacred struggle to protect the sovereign rights and security of their state," she added.

This week, Washington reported that 10,000 North Korean troops had been deployed to Russia, including 8,000 in the Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces still hold several positions following a surprise advance last summer.

The North Korean representative also praised the "invincible military comradeship" between the two nations.
