Kim Jong Un heaps praise on Vladimir Putin
Kim Jong Un has expressed satisfaction with his collaboration with Vladimir Putin during a visit by a Russian official to North Korea.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un hosted Alexander Kozlov, Russia's Minister of Natural Resources, in Pyongyang on Tuesday. According to the local Pyongyang Times, Kim Jong Un conveyed to the Russian official his appreciation for the "bilateral solidarity and growing cooperation" between the two nations.
In recent weeks, the two leaders officially ratified a mutual defense treaty, stipulating that if one country is attacked, the other is obligated to provide assistance. The treaty was initially signed last summer.
In exchange for military support, North Korea will receive technological aid from Moscow to help it develop a significant nuclear arsenal.
Reports suggest Pyongyang has already sent a contingent of 12,000 troops to Russia. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed concerns that North Korea could send ten times that number in the future.
