Kim Jong-un, beware of “crushing response”
While the North Korean leader says he's ready to use nuclear weapons to defend his country, his South Korean counterpart has just responded and it's worrying.
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, during a ceremony given in honor of the armed forces and their creation, declared: "If North Korea attempts to use nuclear weapons, it will face a resolute and overwhelming response from our military." He added, in front of no less than 5,300 soldiers present at the Seoul air base, that this day “would mark the end of the North Korean regime,” reports Le Figaro. According to the Yonhap agency, this event was also marked by the flyover of an American bomber, testifying to the alliance between Seoul and Washington.
These statements come a few weeks after the release of photos showing Kim Jong-un visiting a uranium enrichment facility. The South Korean intelligence agency stressed that Pyongyang would be able to produce dozens of nuclear weapons.
