French MP challenges Putin: “We need to create a balance of power”
The MP pleads in favor of Ukraine, in order to allow it to use long-range missiles on enemy territory.
Benjamin Haddad, from the Ensemble pour la République party, was invited on the Franceinfo set this Tuesday, September 17. According to him, NATO, France and the United States, which still cannot position themselves on the issue of long-range missiles, must give Kiev their authorization, even though the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, denounces the delay in the countless debates on the subject.
At the same time, the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, maintained that "if this decision were taken, it would mean nothing less than a direct involvement of NATO countries in the war in Ukraine. This would change the very nature of the conflict".
French MP, Benjamin Haddad, has a very clear opinion on the issue. "France must accept the use of long-range missiles" on Russian territory. "We're talking about striking Russian military bases from which missiles are sent that strike civilian infrastructure on Ukrainian territory," specifying that this authorization had to be granted to Kiev "to defend itself against missile strikes from Russia", while considering "the conditions of a negotiation [...] To do this, it's necessary to create a balance of power and make Russia understand that it cannot win on a military level".
