Desperate Russians get bombed by their own army

A video picked up by the Daily Mail is circulating on the web. We can see seven Russian soldiers leaving their cover, preparing to surrender to the Ukrainians… and being attacked by a kamikaze drone, from their own camp.

Surrounded by the enemy in the Donetsk region, the Russian soldiers had no choice but to surrender. And while the Ukrainian forces were ready to accept this surrender, holding back their attack drones to save these men, the violent surprise took place from the other side, reports The Daily Digest.

The explosion left several dead, a Russian soldier nevertheless managed to escape from the group and flee to save his life. This attack, even as the men were surrendering, goes against the Geneva Convention and may constitute a war crime.

The incident highlights the conflicts within the Russian army and the extreme methods used against deserters. Many soldiers want to leave the front line, and are desperately looking for prospects for the future.
