Blow for Putin as Ukraine ravages oil refinery
Ukraine has claimed responsibility for an attack on an oil refinery located in the Saratov region of southern Russia.
According to local media, the Ukrainian drone was shot down over the region, but debris fell in the Zavodsky industrial area, as reported by the region’s governor, Roman Busargin.
"All necessary emergency services are working at the site. There are no casualties," Roman Busargin added on Telegram.
Ukrainian media, citing an anonymous source, reported that the long-distance strike was part of an operation conducted by Ukrainian intelligence.
While Moscow has targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure during previous winters, Kyiv has noted that Russia has focused less on these facilities so far this season.
This week, Ukraine also struck a Russian naval port in the Dagestan region, where several ships were damaged following a wave of drone attacks.
