Biden not intimidated by Putin's threats

Last Friday, September 13, as he was leaving a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Joe Biden took the time to answer the press.

What does he think of the Russian president’s threat? Of a war against the West if Kiev were given permission to use long-range missiles? He "brushes it aside", declaring: "I don't think much of Vladimir Putin," information reported by Politico Europe and relayed by Courrier International.

At present, the issue of missiles has still not been decided, although the Biden administration seems to be sticking to its positions. "Our position on the delivery of long-range strike capabilities to Ukraine, which could be used inside Russian territory, has not changed and I would not expect a major announcement on this subject at the end of the discussions, certainly not from us," that is to say "no," announces John Kirby, spokesman for the American National Security Council.

For his part, Keir Starmer declares that no final decision has been made. "We will obviously resume the discussion at the United Nations General Assembly in a few days with a larger number of people," he specifies. This subject therefore seems to be one of "the rare points of disagreement between the two country's allies,” underlines the New York Times.
