All or nothing for Zelensky: “Joint victory for a truly just peace”
Ukraine's so-called "plan for victory" over Russia is "fully prepared". That is what Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, said last week. Zelensky arrived in the US on Sunday to present his ambitious plan.
President Zelensky called his new initiative, which he unveiled a few weeks ago at the forum "Ukraine 2024 Independence" in Kiev, a downright 'victory plan'. "The plan must force Russia to end the war through diplomatic means. It will inevitably end through dialogue, but we must be able to start these negotiations from a position of strength," the Ukrainian president said combatively.
In the meantime, that plan has been completed and Zelensky will soon present it to his American counterpart. The Ukrainian president therefore hopes that the US will join his plan to force Moscow to end this war. "The eventual success of the plan depends on him (Biden, ed.): will the US give us what is in the plan and will we be free to implement it?", Zelensky asked. In doing so, he is once again putting pressure on Washington to allow Western long-range weapons to be used against targets deep inside Russia.
He wants to present his so-called "victory plan" in the US to US President Joe Biden, the two presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump and to both parties in Congress.
Zelensky traveled to the US on Sunday to address a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
Through X, he once again urged his partners to help achieve "a joint victory for a truly just peace".
Are we seeing a breakthrough soon?
