4th day of pro-Russian cypberattacks: Belgian banking site under microscope
Belgium is facing its 4th consecutive day of cyberattacks. Following official websites of municipalities and provinces, banking and federal websites have been hit by the DDoS attacks.
The Russian and pro-Russian collective NoName057 continues to want to flood Belgium with denial of service attacks on official websites. This time, it was the website of FPS Economy (dependent on the Federal Ministry of Economy) that was hit. But after 30 minutes, it was put back into service. On the other hand, the website of the banking service federation, Febelfin, on Thursday morning around 10am was still out of service. The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) reminds us that even if these attacks paralyze the websites, they are not dangerous with regards to data security.
