Three terror attacks foiled during Paris Olympics
French police and prosecutors managed to foil no fewer than three attacks during last summer's Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. So reports French anti-terrorist prosecutor Olivier Christen on France Info on Wednesday.
“Ensuring security is a challenge we were able to meet thanks to a very heavy investment over the past few months,” said the head of the national anti-terrorism prosecutor's office.
Three attacks were foiled, one against “café-like affairs” around a stadium in Saint-Etienne, one against institutions and representatives of Israel in Paris and one planned during the Olympics, Christen said. “Everyone who planned the attacks was arrested, leading to five criminal investigations,” the prosecutor added. A minor was also involved.
