In Guben, near the Polish border in eastern Germany, the local municipal government decided to develop an eye-catching campaign. Interested parties can get a free furnished apartment and an internship for a month, so they can get a taste of local life and work. In this way, the city council wants to combat the exodus that has been going on for years. In 25 years, Guben saw the population almost halve, but now it seems to have found a solution. Interested parties must submit an application, which must be approved by the city council.
