Putin continues his internal purge
A retired Russian official, closely linked to Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin's secret services, was found dead in his home.
Konstantin Romodanovsky, 67, the former head of the Federal Migration Service, reportedly suffered a fatal fall down the stairs of his property, breaking his neck.
Romodanovsky, who had worked with the current Russian leader at the FSB, was considered "Putin's eyes and ears" within several government agencies.
He also served as Interior Minister for some time, while maintaining his status as a spy.
According to the Telegram channel VChK-OGPU, the former intelligence officer allegedly possessed "incriminating documents on many current politicians, businessmen and employees of the [secret service] agencies."
"Romodanovsky died in his country house under very strange circumstances," the channel added.
Despite his retirement, Konstantin Romodanovsky remained active, playing roles on the executive boards of several companies controlled by the FSB.
