K-Pop superstar Rosé and Bruno Mars create stock market surprise
“APT.”, the single by K-Pop superstar Rosé and US singer Bruno Mars, is moving more than dancefloors. The catchy pop song is behind a dramatic rise in the share values of the Korean entertainment giants YG Plus and YG Entertainment.
The single “APT.” taps into the popular Korean drinking game “Apartment”. It’s a light-hearted romp filmed in a small studio with the two singers and a drumkit.
Rosé and Bruno Mars: giants in their genres
It’s deceptively light-hearted, as it brings together two giants in their respective genres. Rosé is perhaps the best-known member of the K-Pop band Blackpink. She joined them in 2016, spent four years training and went on to have phenomenal success. Bruno Mars is a singer-songwriter with a string of worldwide hit singles and is known for his accomplished shows.
“APT.” is a pre-release track from Rosé’s upcoming solo album, slated for release on December 6. It has no less than eleven songwriters listed, which begs the question about who actually did the writing and who is getting a “cut” for other reasons.
Since its release on October 18, the single has reached the number one spot on both Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global and the US charts. The music video has already surpassed 81.43 million views. Industry observers see this as a good sign for future global sales.
